Two new projects were approved at the recent Selection Sub Committee (SSC) virtual meeting in March.

The two new projects - C-CARE and Cool Food Pro - receive a total value of €7.4m ERDF. The FCE programme now has 51 projects, 420 project partners and has committed €217.5m to projects that will bring environmental, economic and social development to the Channel area.

The two projects are highlighted below:

C-CARE (Covid Channel Area Response Exchange) is the first capitalisation project to have been approved by the programme, receiving 100% intervention rate funding.

The €6.7m project, led by Kent County Council, will provide a unique and ambitious package of Covid-19 support targeted at individuals at risk of exclusion from the labour market and businesses hit hardest by the pandemic.

Cool Food Pro builds on the award-winning micro project Cool Food, winner of the RegioStars Awards in 2020.

The project, led by Université de Bretagne Occidentale, has a total value of €832,000 (of which €665,000 is provided by ERDF). The team will develop a web app to support public and private sector catering companies to make more sustainable food choices and contribute towards the EU and UK target for carbon neutrality by 2050.

More detailed project summaries will be available on our website soon.
