PPP school network launch event

The Preventing Plastic Pollution project is launching a cross-channel school network and would like to invite teachers and classes to attend its virtual launch event at 10 am on Monday the 7th of March 2022.

The event will be hosted by the National Marine Aquarium and Oceanopolis, joined by the Environment Agency and Plymouth City Council. This event will introduce participants to some of the issues and impacts of plastic pollution as well as actions and solutions which can be taken to prevent it. The 45-minute event is open to both primary and secondary schools and will be delivered in both French and English, with a 10-minute section delivered only in French with an optional transcript to follow.

PPP’s ambition is to bring together classes and schools from both countries to share local stories and experiences, complete joint activities, learn the language and culture of partner schools, and work together to tackle plastic pollution.

Following the event, UK and French classes of a similar age will be paired and provided with some suggested activities and methods of communicating with each other, with support from the Preventing Plastic Pollution project partners.

Please contact kelly.haynes@environment-agency.gov.uk if you would like to take part.
